Trauma Therapy

Therapy is provided to folks impacted by trauma, with an emphasis on serving survivors of sexual violence.  We utilize a trauma-informed, person-centered, harm-reduction and strength-based approach.  Our goal is to help clients navigate and lessen trauma symptoms, understand how false myths and inaccurate societal narratives impact feelings of blame and shame, learn about common trauma responses to sexual violence (especially how common the freeze response is), and build self-compassion toward themselves and their responses to trauma.  We understand that each person has unique needs and life experiences and we follow their lead in identifying goals and using treatments they're comfortable with and that fit their lifestyle.

ABOUT ME

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Indiana and New Mexico.  I have specialized training and experience, and am most passionate about working with survivors of sexual violence and providing them with a therapy experience where they feel safe, understood, and believed. I’ve also had the privilege of working with individuals on various issues, including childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, other forms of trauma, LGBTQ issues, depression, anxiety, substance misuse and grief/loss.  I strongly believe that we're the experts of our own lives and sometimes we just need a safe, non-judgmental person to see us, believe our experiences and remind us that we're deserving and healing is possible.
